20 new professionals in future-oriented jobs

Gatex_closing_ceremonyBaden-Wuerttemberg's textile industry is pleased about 20 particularly talented new professionals: in addition to their training at work and at the vocational school, they also completed the intercompany trainings at Gatex in Bad Säckingen and were granted the Gatex certificate on 19th of July 2018. Among them, there was also one apprentice from A&E Gütermann.

The textile industry as a supplier to the automotive, aerospace, medical and construction industries and with innovative concepts for sustainable clothing has long been considered a high-tech sector with a need for skilled labor. "The southwest is the world market leader in many textile products, but we can only maintain this advantage through more training, skilled workers and additional talents," said Gatex Chairman Volker Steidel at the closing ceremony for graduates on Thursday in Bad Säckingen.

In front of their trainers, vocational school teachers, representatives of associations and the IHK as well as in front of guests from politics, the trainees were sent into professional life. The most successful ones were additionally awarded with the Gatex certificate. The special audit of the Textile Training Center was introduced to highlight the above-average qualification of Gatex graduates, giving them a competitive advantage in the labor market.

Gatex is the education and training center of the textile industry. At the Gatex technical center, the professions textile production mechanic, textile laboratory assistant and textile product enhancer are being trained extra-occupational on modern textile machines. Through a variety of practical exercises, the trainees are able to gain some insight into all areas of the textile value chain.
