Gütermann also offers a range of speciality threads that has been developed to meet specific needs. All Gütermann threads are ideal for hand-sewing with the majority also being suitable for machine-sewing.

The Gütermann reel has been developed and engineered with the sewer in mind and offers:
Tall reel with cross-wound thread - this for an smooth and even pull off during machine sewing ensuring consistency in machine sewing. Non-cellophaned reel – allows the customer to shade match accurately. Tie-off facility – winding the loose end of thread around the tie off facility ensures that thread is kept clean and neat in the work basket. Removable tie off facility – should the end of the thread become ‚lost‘ in the tie off the whole end plate can be removed for retrieval. Clear labelling – each end label indicates the shade number and bar code and has a perforated centre section ensuring that once used, the label portion containing the information remains intact.
